The following includes three articles previously published at Hatewatch to much controversy. The major thrust of the work resides in its detailed analysis of syncretic, right-left networks engaged in pro-Kremlin information operations. When right and left-wing activists threatened to sue the Southern Poverty Law Center following publication of the third piece, the publisher retracted the article based on the impossibility of confronting the volume of counter-information against it.
The articles received acclaim from experts on fascism like Andreas Umland, the SPLC’s own David Neiwert, and the editors of Routledge’s Fascism and the Far Right series, and was promoted by the bureau chiefs of the New York Times and the Washington Post on social media. However, the influence networks that I detailed in my analysis, set to work, are unfortunately quite powerful—which is why I risked my entire career to expose them.
