Anton Shekhovtsov will discuss how the Russian international media is engaging with European far right activists for the purposes of propaganda.

The USSR would back leftist movements in Europe—Putin’s Russia cooperates with both the (far) left and ever more increasingly with the far right. Funding Marine Le Pen’s Front National, involving far right activists in the staged observation missions at dubious elections, and inviting Western homophobes to legitimise the Russian homophobic laws—these are some of the areas in which Moscow finds it useful to cooperate with the European far right that is on the rise in some European countries.
